Racecourse Building

The central and most strategic facility of the new Murray Bridge Racing initiative will be the Racing and Entertainment complex. These buildings and their associated spaces will offer on completion a fantastic facility for Racing, but also accommodate a range of function and entertainment, dining, café and family experiences for those attending race day and other non-race day events.

The Murray Bridge Racing Club and Burke Urban have been working closely with Architectural firm, Max Architects, to design the buildings so that they are distinctive and recognizable as a Racecourse facility, but also welcoming for users on non-race days. The Murray Bridge Racing Club has been very keen for the design to be efficient and practical, but also multi-purpose in its use so that the broader community will value this complex as a regular destination for a range of activities.

There are two main buildings to be developed. The main race building of approximately 2000m2 will accommodate racing patrons in the public, members and committee areas, spaces which are to be capable of being separated by removable walls, but which can readily open up to accommodate larger functions such as conventions, functions, exhibitions, weddings and receptions.

The second building will be smaller, but over two levels and accommodate stewards, administration and jockeys’ at ground level and a corporate function area with extended deck at the first level. This corporate area will double as a smaller function and meeting area for the community on non-race days.
