Population Climbs
06 August 2012

Murray Bridge had the largest population growth of any local council area beyond outer Adelaide in 2010-11, according to data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The city's population is estimated to have grown by 161 people, or 0.8 per cent, in the 12 months to last June.

Regional Development Australia Murraylands and Riverland Chief Executive Office Brenton Lewis said Murray Bridge was powering ahead of other centres in the region because of its diversified ecomony.
