Place Making

At its heart, Place making is about understanding the unique environment, built form, urban fabric, cultural heritage, global trends and community values and needs that inform and influence a place.

It is about facilitating the vision and collaborative cross-sector partnerships between the community, stakeholders, government and businesses to achieve the best outcome for all.

Innovating through research, strategic analysis and catalysing creative processes, pioneering responses are developed for the challenges and opportunities of creating great places.

Place making activates and inspires the people who make places, bringing ideas to life, encouraging community efforts and tangible change.

Gifford Hill will be a project for 'people'. It will be informed by the people who have an interest in it care and designed for the people who will eventually choose to make this home.

From the start the project has been a collaborative process between internal stakeholders, local government and now the community via the innovative 'Imagine Your Rural City 2020' community engagement and planning initiative. The Gifford Hill community workshops were held on March 2nd and 3rd 2011. A second phase of consultation for the region is now underway. For more information click here

Burke Urban are absolutely committed to creating something special for the Murray Bridge region that will leave a lasting legacy. Gifford Hill will be a great place to live that is connected physically and emotionally to Murray Bridge. A core objective of the development team is to overcome the potential barrier of the ‘us’ versus ‘them’ mentality.
